Over the period from 2009 IID / IID members have carried out further assignments, a selection is shown below.
Australia
2015 IID was contracted by the Western Australian Department of Agriculture and NyPa Australia to assist wheat/sheep farmers to assess the results of a 5 year program to introduce productive halophytes to enable irrigation with saline water to relieve pressure in a paleo channel causing salt damage to farm land and infrastructure in the Moore river catchment. This project involved preparing proposals for an extension to include forage establishment, nutrition and carbon production trials through 2018.
IID has been involved in developing a methodology for auditing NRM investments for the New South Government and implemented audits over 9 out of 13 regional Catchment management authorities between 2008 and 2010. This work is now carried out by a specialised company that has evolved from IID's Risk Management Group, called Environmental Risk Science and Audit (ERSA).
Myanmar
2015/16 IID was commissioned by Macadamia Nut Cluster, to work with Myanmar nut growers, processors and Australian industry to develop a concept for the development of a long term Macadamia nut Industry in hill areas of Myanmar.
2014 IID was commissioned by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Finland to lead and supply a natural resource governance specialist and national specialist in national resources governance and insulation's to assist Finland to prepare an Aid Development Cooperation Programme with Myanmar for 4 years with a vision of 10 years spanning the 2015 national elections. The three Themes considered were Natural Resource Governance, Governance and the Rule of Law, and Education.
2014 IID was contracted by the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) to support an ACIAR team of scientists with the undertaking of the ‘Inlay Lake Justification’ study for a possible 6-8 year integrated catchment participatory research project to develop sustainable watershed management systems for the Inlay lake watershed and Inlay Lake.
2013 IID was again commissioned by GIZ to assist the Danu people to prepare a strategic development plan for their Special Administrative zone. This project involved the development of plans with the direction and deliberation of relevant Danu stakeholders the planning also involved the study of the zones socio economic situation and prepare development proposals for consideration by the stakeholders and potential supporters and the Shan state government.
2013 IID was Commissioned by GIZ to prepare a strategic development plan for the Danu Special Administrative Zone (SAZ) in the Shan State. This followed the successful completion of the first such plan, The Pa-O SAZ. The plan which was prepared with the relevant ethnic groups is to be their expression of their development aspiration for use with Government and interested development agencies.
2013 IID was commissioned by ICIMOD to lead a Value chain Analysis investigation to link upland farmers in the Southern Shan state to the modern tourism sector in the Inlay Lake region in southern Myanmar.
IID commenced operation again in Myanmar in 2010 with the Completion of the Evaluation and Review of the Nargis Reconstruction Program, an assessment of the efficiency and effectiveness of the reconstruction program after the 2004 Cyclone, with UNDP Delta Working Groups (ASEAN. UN, Gov. of Union of Myanmar, UNDP).
In 2011, the leading group of the Pa-O National Organisation, one of the new Special Administrative Zones established under the new Myanmar constitution requested IID to assist it compile a strategic development plan, this commenced in May 2011 funded by the IID development Fund and was completed in October 2012, partly with Norwegian assistance. The iterative participatory process adopted for this plan was controlled by the Pa-O and has resulted in a plan for the future that has a high level of ownership.
IID was commissioned to develop a political economic assessment of Myanmar to assist the the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) to formulate its development assistance program for 2013-2017. The objective of the PES was to develop a strategy to move from humanitarian assistance towards development as the new Government's reform process takes form.
IID was also commissioned by The Norwegian Government to develop An Action Plan for the Future in support of the Action Plan for Environmental Conservation and Sustainable Management of Inlay Lake 2010-2025 of the Ministry of Environmental Conservation & Forestry (MOCEF). Inlay Lake is experiencing a very high rate of tourist growth and this along with other pressures on the lake and watershed from human activities is threatening the Lake's ecology. Then resulting plan provides a means of supporting the President's multi agency committee, Chaired by the Minister of MOCEF, to address the many factors facing the lake in an integrated way. The study was undertaken at the same time as the Pa-O strategic development plan to facilitate collaboration for mutual benefit between the Intha people, who live on the Lake and the Pa-O who live in the hills around the watershed.

IID completed assignments on two projects A Regional Pilot Project to Address Pasture Degradation and Sustainable Management, UNDP/GEF, 2009. and for an Irrigation Project for ADB.
Regional Central Asia
Evaluation of the Central Asian Countries Initiative for Land Management (CACILM) 2009. The CACILM program is a $US 1.3 billion multi-country initiative to combat land degradation in the five countries over 10 years. Countries covered by CACILM are: Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan.
Evaluation of the CACILM Multi Country Capacity building project 2011. This work evaluating different parts of the CACILM program followed involvement for ADB GEF in the preparation of this $1.5 billion muli country program to Combat Land Degradation in 2005-6.
Timor-Leste:
IID carried out several projects in Timor-Leste, the Preparation of a Livestock Development Policy, 2008 for the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries. three assginemnts related to strategy preparation, evaluation and assessments with regard to horticulture initiatives of the Dezenvolve Setor Privadu project of USAID. This has followed work in Timor Leste over many years.
Vietnam
IID's Victor Squires was selected as the Biodiversity Conservation and Land Degradation Specialist to asssist UNDP Hanoi in mainstreaming biodiversity conservation into tourist sector, and to promote sustainable land management, 2010/2011.
China - Australia
2015 IID was commissioned by FAO Regional Consultation to work within China to Compile and present a talk entitled “Potential for carbon sequestration through grassland restoration: A South East and East Asia Perspective”.
IID has been contracted to develop a value chain project to connect growers-winemakers in the Robe, Cape Jaffa & Coonawarra region of South Eastern Australia with particular consumers in regional areas of China.
United States of America
IID was involved in a project in the United States of America on behalf of NyPa Australia which involved Reviewing activities to utilize halophytes to strip nutrients from effluent, make productive use of saline water and to rehabilitate degraded land.
