Since the promulgation of the new Myanmar constitution in March 2011 IID has registered to operate in Myanmar with the Ministry of National Planning and Economic Development (Number 32 FC of 2011) and established a new office in Yangon managed by a Director Mr Joern Kristensen, (see contact us). IID directors experience in Myanmar now spans some 30 years, since 1982. Mr Kristensen was also UNODC Resident Representative In Myanmar during the period following the signing of the first ceasefires in 1991.

IID member Victor Squires received The Friendship Award of China. Hosted annually by the State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs, it is an award to thank and commend the foreign experts for their outstanding achievements and dedication to China’s development and construction in the fields of economy, technology, education and culture as well as personnel cultivation.
This is the highest honor that the Chinese government confers to foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to China. Dr Squires is one of just 50 recipients (and the first Australian),
We welcome David King and Philips Young as new Directors of IID. Both men are long term associates of existing IID Directors through MPW Rural Development Pty Limited. MPW merged with Coffey Partners International in 1989 to become Coffey International, now Listed on the ASX.
